đđ A LIVE SHOW OF MAJESTIC PROPORTIONS đđ
Podcasters, cinephiles, and freaksârejoice! Blank Check will be returning to Town Hall this summer to commemorate our 10th anniversary with a long-promised tribute to one of the greatest films in cinema history.
To honor our âDecade of Dreams,â we cordially invite you to a royal audience with King Ralph, the 1991 John Goodman/Peter OâToole comedy that dared to ask, âWhat if there was a King Ralph?â
It will be an evening of reflection, analysis, elaborately produced (and adequately executed) royalty-themed bits, and an entire court of special guests. God save our gracious podcast!

[00:00:00] David, we're excited to announce a live show. What? Blank Check LIVE? A New York City live show. That's not the kind of thing I approve of. Yeah, well... Everyone's laughing. Folks, we got him. Truth in comedy. We pushed him to accept one more live show. Yeah, once in a while. Listen, people might be going, where's the March live show? They usually do a March live show. It took us years to realize that what a terrible time for us to do a live show. Too much on our plates. Our busiest time of year. March Madness. Very annoying to do a live show on top of it. Yeah. Also, last year we sent a
[00:00:29] decided to do a live show with like 15 bits. It was very complicated. Yeah. What was that? Uh, it was, it was an excellent night of entertainment. It was an excellent night of entertainment based on me as I walked out of the door one time going like, I don't know, ninth anniversary. What if we did like nine movies? Let's think about it. It was a funny bit. Look, this is the big point. Yes. This summer. For our 10th year. We are returning to Town Hall. That's right. On Broadway or near it. New York's historic Town Hall. Yes. And we are doing a show that is
[00:00:59] in, in the spirit of decade of dreams. Looking back, looking forward, taking stock of the history of this show. There's an episode we promised for a long time. He's kind of the, an episode that's, dare I say, it's sort of the sorry to Matt Damon. We bumped you for time of blank. Right. We keep being like, well, maybe it goes there. Oh, and I thought something else. Maybe it goes there. Huh? It's, it's just, you really have to roll out the red carpet for a guy like this. Yep. Because he's royalty.
[00:01:29] He's royalty. You know what I mean? Folks, we're doing it. We're talking King Ralph. Ben! Hell yeah! Listen. Finally, my boy! I just have one thing to say. A great tragedy has befallen the royal family, leaving only one heir to the throne. King Ralph. That's the tagline to King Ralph. Aren't there three taglines? The second tagline is a comedy of majestic performance. I'm laughing. And of course, we cannot forget that the poster promises you both John Goodman and Peter O'Toole. Yep. Yep. Above the title.
[00:01:58] And of course, that Mr. Ralph. Mm-hmm. He's got some sneaks on. Yeah. Some white high tops. Look, this is not. He's got some jeans on. He's got a black shirt that says Las Vegas. This is not your grandpappy's king. He's also wearing the crown of England's monarch? And I've heard a rumor he likes some old time rock and roll. Oh boy. I also think he has, I'm gonna guess, a chicken? No, it's a burger. It's a burger. It's a burger. It's a burger. All of these questions are gonna be answered. We're gonna watch King Ralph.
[00:02:24] What if none of these questions get answered? We're gonna do a full show, Reckoning with King Ralph. With the 1991 comedy, King Ralph written and directed by David S. Ward, who also made Major League and, you know, Major League Two. Yeah. So here's what you need to know. Blank Check Live tackles King Ralph, bends the knee to King Ralph, will be happening Friday, June 6th at 8pm.
[00:02:50] So anyone out there who may be interested, public sale will go live Friday, March 7th at 3pm Eastern Standard Time. Just go to the link in the episode description. And like last year, we will have some VIP tickets available that will include a pre-show meet and greet, as well as a complimentary poster. King Ralph!
[00:03:19] God save a gracious king, etc. You've never seen this before, right? Nope. Neither have I. Now we won't be screening it, so let's just say this is a signed homework. Everyone needs to watch King Ralph before the show. We will be watching King Ralph before the show. Bits, goofs, laughs. Cool. Insights. Hopefully. Yeah. Do you know it's based on a novel? We're gonna get into it. See you there. See you there.
